Lehi couple could see adopted Haitian child soon

Daily Herald

Brent and Lori Rosenlof were nearly finished with the adoption process for two children from Haiti when all their paperwork was lost in the 7.0 magnitude earthquake last week. The Rosenlofs have visited their children, Nathan and Jessica, several times in the past couple of years in the orphanage in Haiti.

The Rosenlofs should see one of their children soon.

The Lehi couple who have spent the last nine days waiting for news on their two almost-adopted Haitian children said Thursday that Chareyl Moyes, the woman administering their adoptions through Help for the Little Angels of Haiti, was going to Port-au-Prince to get as many of the children as possible and bring them back to the United States with humanitarian parole status. Brent and Lori Rosenlof's 2-year-old son, Nathan, has been located and will be among the group. Jessica, their 3-year-old, still has not been found.

People looking for ways to help the Haitians can donate supplies or volunteer for 2-hour shifts at a medical supplies drive Saturday. The drive, sponsored by Illens Dort's organization, International Aid Serving Kids, will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the APX Alarm building, 4907 N. 300 West in Provo. Needed items include Hibiclens antiseptic bottles, Neosporin, gauze pads, Ace bandages, Coban wraps, Adaptic Vaseline gauze, bandages, arm slings, gloves, crutches, wheelchairs, splinting materials and a variety of over-the-counter pain medications. For more information, go to www.liftalife.org. Dort also is looking for physicians to volunteer for a relief trip at the end of February.
