Scott just called me and they made it safely to Miami. They had a great flight and they were met with pizza and pop at the gate.
They gave everyone in our group the cool jackets they are wearing and a sleeping bag. They have gone above and beyond to help our group and have been so nice. They will be leaving for PAP in a little bit.
The person who is backing this trip is Anne Archer's son. Scott met him and talked to him for a while on the flight and gave them the run down on the kids and the orphanage and Haiti in general. Scott said he and his wife were very cool!
We also got the details of how our measly little group of 5 got onto this flight! I tell ya miracles are falling from the sky....Apparently this flight had 5 seats slated for "5 LDS Search and Rescue people", it was on the books and on the manifest. The original group had to cancel at the last minute. When our contact called about getting on this flight she had no idea that was the case. The person on the other end of the phone said "umm, I have to ask you a personal question. Is any one in your group LDS?" Our contact said "Yeah, all 5 of us that are going are!" The person then said then "OK, you have the 5 seats that were slated for '5 LDS relief workers'".

We have also added to the number of kids that they are bringing home they are now trying to get 72 kids out. The plane will be there for us to get these kids out. The kids are being taken to a safe location that the JCICS has put together. If things go this good tomorrow ....ahh the possibilities.
Scott is supposed to call me when he lands in Haiti. I will post that if I actually hear from him.
